The brief
A billboard is only as valuable as the people who pass it. Ad Drop wanted its sales team and advertisers to see, for any site, who lives around it, what homes there sell for and how busy the roads are. That information existed, but it was scattered across different sources.
What we did
We signed a software development agreement in June 2023 and staffed the project with a technical lead, a project manager and business analyst, and a developer. The first release targeted August 2023.
- An interactive map with satellite imagery, zoom and address search.
- An estimated economic profile for the area around each billboard.
- Average household sale prices around each site, gathered from property listings.
- Traffic and congestion data from a third-party API.
- An admin portal to approve or reject users, with notifications.
After launch
We kept building. New features followed in late 2023 and through 2024, and from September 2024 we ran the application under a maintenance and hosting agreement. When Ad Drop planned for higher traffic and GDPR requirements, we designed an Azure Container Apps setup across four regions with hourly and daily backups, estimated at about half the cost of the AWS alternative.
The outcome
In April 2025 we transferred the repository to Ad Drop, and by the end of May the application was running on the company's own servers. Ad Drop owns a working product and the code behind it.
